The man known as Berzerker has existed for centuries, a being of both mortal flesh and divine origin, driven by an unending compulsion toward violence. His current refuge is a sterile facility operated by the U.S. government, which deploys him against threats deemed too extreme for conventional forces. In return for his service, he is promised answers about the nature of his cursed, blood-soaked immortality and the possibility of its end. His handlers monitor his deteriorating sanity from behind reinforced glass, calculating the risk of containing a living weapon who seeks only his own final peace. The air in the lab smells of ozone and antiseptic.
