FAQ and help
Quick answers for BatCave readers: reading, collections, folders, profile, private messages and support links.
Start
New to BatCave?
You can read comics without an account. Sign in if you want to save titles, organize folders, continue reading from your history and use private messages.
Where are the main account pages?
Your key pages are collection, folders, currently reading, private messages and the public profile page.
Reading
How do I continue reading?
Open Currently reading. It keeps titles you have opened recently and helps you return to your current comics faster.
How do I keep comics for later?
Add comics to your collection from the title page. Your reading collection is available at /favorites/reading.
Can I download chapters to my device?
Yes. Open any title page and press Download all in the chapter list toolbar. A dialog lets you pick the range (all chapters, unread, or the latest 50), choose CBZ or PDF, and start the download. Downloads require a signed-in account. Your browser packs the files locally — nothing extra is sent to our server, and BatCave resumes from the last finished chapter if you close the tab.
What formats are available — CBZ or PDF?
CBZ is a comic-archive format opened by most comic readers (CDisplayEx, YACReader, ComicRack, Komga, Kavita). PDF opens on any device or operating system without a special viewer. Pick whichever fits your reader app — both contain the same scans at full quality.
Where do the downloaded files go?
On desktop browsers that support folder pickers (Chrome, Edge), you choose the target folder when the download starts and files go straight there. On other browsers and on mobile, files go to your default Downloads folder. Keep the tab open while a download is running — if you close it mid-batch, BatCave continues from the last finished chapter when you reopen the dialog.
How do I leave a review?
After you finish a comic, open its page and scroll to Reviews after reading. Give it a rating and write what you thought (200 to 8000 characters). Writing a review needs a little history on the site first — an account that is a few days old, or a few comments or chapters read. New reviews may be checked by a moderator before they appear; regular reviewers post instantly. Your rating counts toward the title's community score.
Why do I see ads while reading?
Ads keep BatCave free for everyone. They are kept non-intrusive: at most one ad per 20 minutes, and never on the first page you open.
How do I get rid of ads?
Help the site! Upload or fix any chapter (Add chapter / Replace buttons on a title page). Once your chapter is approved, ads are turned off for your account.
Reader controls
What can the comic reader do?
The reader supports paginated, spread, web and infinite scroll modes. On touch screens, tap the image to move forward and tap the left edge to go back. On desktop, use the arrow keys or Space to change pages, and F for fullscreen. The reader can auto-mark a chapter as read when you finish and can save an auto-bookmark after page 5 if you read for 15+ seconds. Open Settings in the reader header to adjust mode, click navigation, width and brightness.
Library
What are folders for?
Folders let you group saved comics by theme, status, mood or any personal list. Use them when one large collection becomes hard to scan.
Where can I suggest an improvement?
Use Suggestions for ideas, bugs and feature requests. Other users can discuss and vote there.

How do I add a new comic to BatCave?
Signed-in readers can submit a title with Add Title in the account menu (or at /addnews.html). Add what you know — name, year, publisher and genres — and a moderator checks every submission before it goes live. Search first: duplicates of comics already on the site are removed.
How do I add a missing chapter?
Open the title page and press Add chapter, then upload the pages. Uploads process in the background and a moderator checks each one, so give it a little time to show up. You need to be signed in.
How do I fix a wrong title, year or cover?
On the title page press Suggest title edit and send your corrections — name, year, publisher, cover and other details. A moderator reviews the change before it goes live.
A chapter is broken or missing pages. What do I do?
Press Complain on the title page to report it. Reported titles show up on the community repair board at /repair/, where readers and staff work through fixes. If you have the pages, you can also re-upload the chapter yourself with Add chapter.
Account
Why should I fill in my profile?
An informative profile is easier to recognize in comments and messages. Check your public page, avatar, visible details and profile style.
Can I change profile frames or login?
Profile frames and login changes are account features. If the option is not visible in your profile settings, contact the administration through feedback or private messages.
Where are private messages?
Private messages are available at /index.php?do=pm. Use them for direct contact with users or site staff.
Why did the site ask me to sign in again after locking my phone?
If you signed in with Do not remember me enabled, BatCave keeps your login only in a short browser session. After a long pause, phone lock or a tab being unloaded, that session can expire and actions like bookmarks or collection changes will ask you to sign in again. Sign in again and leave Do not remember me off if you want to stay signed in on your own device.
How do I delete my account?
Open your profile and scroll to the very bottom. The Delete account button is at the bottom of the profile page when self-deletion is available for your account group. If the button is not visible, contact staff through Feedback.
