Midnighter (2007)

Returning to The Carrier from the mountains of Afghanistan, The Midnighter is ambushed the moment he steps through the teleportation door. The attack is precise and overwhelming, executed by unseen assailants who incapacitate him with brutal efficiency. He awakens in a sterile, unknown location, his combat computer still analyzing the impossible speed of his own defeat. A voice presents him with a single directive. His choice is binary: locate and terminate a designated mass murderer, or be terminated himself. The parameters of the hunt are already being calculated, the target's identity a blank space in his tactical database.
