Their roster is a collection of volatile assets. Iron Man operates as a corporate brand in a weaponized suit. Giant-Man and The Wasp navigate a fractured partnership built on chemical dependency and private trauma. The Hulk’s genius is eclipsed by a monstrous addiction, while Captain America brings a brutal, anachronistic patriotism to the field. The team’s wild card is Thor, a self-proclaimed deity whose divine claims are indistinguishable from madness. Their first deployment is imminent.

    I just read this in one night and... this book is weird as fuck dude. The Chitari were pretty badass. The only characters i liked were Nick, Thor, Tony and Cap (sometimes) Why'd they make my goat Hulk mega horny and freaked out for Betty 🫩🫩 come on Millar. If they calmed down with the unfunny edginess and constant 2000s pop culture crap, i would probably like this more.

    Good re-imagining of the Avengers, if their genesis occurred in a post-9/11 America. The only assholes are Pym and Banner, but Millar's is using them to inject fragile masculinity element in the Jekyll and Hyde dynamic between Banner/Hulk and the Janet and Pym abuse subplot

    Rereading these old Ultimate titles. I know the runs were great at the time, but boy, reading them now they don’t hold up. The characters really don’t have ant good redeeming qualities.

      I know, right, especially Hulk/Banner and Hank Pym, they got the really short end of the stick.
      Betty Ross is probably the least likeable character of them all here.
