Where the Body Was (2024)

A summer in the suburbs is defined by a single event on Pelican Road. The residents of a local boarding house, a neglected housewife, and a private detective searching for a runaway all have intersecting stories. A young girl patrols the neighborhood with her own sense of justice, while a weary cop would prefer to ignore the whole affair. When a body is discovered, each person provides their own account of the love and violence that led to that moment. The truth becomes fragmented across decades, buried within conflicting testimonies and personal grievances. The map of the street remains, but the stories layered over it never quite align.
