I love the artistic direction taken with this run it reminds me so much of lobo infanticide and im really glad that theyre being faithful to that chaotic art style that being said i dont like the dumbing down of lobo he is an intelligent character in the canon and although the stupidity moments were really funny i feel it kinda throws off his character

imo as a lobo fan who's read nearly all of his appearances in the comics i'd say this is one of his best hell even greatest runs for him. skottie young has stated multiple times in his newsletter that one of his favorite characters is lobo (considered him an inspiration for i hate fairyland) and you can tell he genuinely has a ton of passion for the character. this is very beginner friendly for the main man as #1 gives you the information you need for lobo so it's either you backread or just jump straight into this run and you won't get lost. lobo's written like how keith giffen/alan grant made him to be and skottie basically enhances that further with modern humor and it's great. jorge corona's art also is awesome as hell, very reminiscent of 90's simon bisley art with it being messy but not too messy on purpose. this run is basically a massive love letter to the character, if you wanna check out lobo this run is basically the best if you want to get into him. then the flow is just reading his older runs because this run carries the essence of the 90's

the muave lantern was really fun, and having an issue about kid lobo in general was really cool. skottie young really is the perfect guy to write lobo

Awesome so far. Wasn't a big fan of Lobo's sorta Goku-looking hair at first but it's grown on me quite a bit since the cover for this was first shown. Been hooked on Jorge Corona's art since he did the covers for the DCKO 1v1 spinoff issues, so I'm glad to see him working on a full run, I think his style works perfectly for Lobo. The alien designs and humour are pretty good but not quite on par with the older Lobo stories yet, though this first issue is mostly setup to be fair. I like the commentary on media conglomerates so far, excited to see where Skottie Young takes the concept (hopefully in a better direction than he took the I Hate Fairyland reboot.)
