peter parker is very normal kid
he gets powers but his life is still bad
that makes him easy to relate to
good sides
story is very short but hits hard
uncle bens death really matters
the power comes with responsibility idea is strong
peter acts selfish and pays the price
heroes before were perfect but peter is not
also the historical value is huge
this comic changed marvel
spiderman is born here
bad sides
art feels old
for new readers it can look boring
the villain is forgettable
everything happens too fast
uncle bens death needed more focus
overall
story is strong but you can feel its age
if you want to understand spiderman you should read this
but if you want modern comics you might get bored

Good underrated art

This comic is short but surprisingly deep. Even without knowing Spider-Man or comics, you immediately understand who Peter is, what he wants, and why he’s important. The art is bold and expressive, the story simple but emotional, and the lesson sticks. It’s easy to see why this issue became iconic. I feel like I’ve met a character I could follow for decades.
