Animal Man (1988)

In the suburbs of San Diego, Buddy Baker is attempting to resume his life as Animal Man. His family watches as he tests the limits of his powers, which allow him to temporarily borrow the abilities of nearby wildlife. The prospect of joining a major team like the Justice League International looms, forcing him to confront whether his unique connection to the animal kingdom is a strength or a liability in a world of more conventional heroes. His training sessions are punctuated by the mundane realities of domestic life, creating a constant tension between two worlds. The air smells of cut grass and ozone.
