A crashed alien vessel lies hidden in the remote woods near Patience, Washington. Its sole survivor, Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle, has assumed the identity of the town’s new physician. His quiet life of observation is complicated by a local murder investigation, forcing him to use his advanced intellect to assist the Patience Sheriff's Department. The town’s eccentric residents provide a constant source of unpredictable human behavior for him to study. His primary concern remains maintaining his cover while navigating the mundane complexities of small-town life and the persistent threat of discovery. The snow-covered mountains keep his secret, for now.
