The charred soil of Apokolips still clings to the hull of the transport. Batman has returned to Gotham with the remains of his son, but the cargo holds more than a corpse. An unknown presence, a passenger from that dark world, now stirs within the Batcave. The question of succession hangs in the air, a silent pressure in the sterile light of the medical bay. The identity of the next Robin is not a choice, but an emergent fact born from fire and resurrection. The final act of retrieval has become an opening gambit. Cold condensation drips from the cave's stone ceiling.
