Witchblade (1995-2015)

In the precincts of New York City, Sara Pezzini pursues a lead from a drug bust to a clandestine gathering downtown. The event is orchestrated by Kenneth Irons, a man whose wealth is built on shadows, and his purpose is singular: to present the ancient artifact known as the Witchblade. He seeks a worthy host to claim its power, intending to dominate both. When Sara’s partner, Michael, is captured during her infiltration, a desperate rescue attempt ends in gunfire. As bullets find their mark, the sentient relic reacts, rejecting Irons’s design. It bonds with the fallen detective, its alien metal fusing with her flesh, choosing her sacrifice over his ambition. The city’s darkness now has a new, unwilling guardian.
