Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends (1983)

The Marvel UK series Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends (1983) began in October 1983, renaming the long-running Spider-Man title to ride the wave of the popular cartoon. After three issues that reprint the US adaptation of the cartoon’s pilot, the ongoing Spider-Man strip returned to reprinting the regular US Spider-Man material, though the Amazing Friends subtitle stayed in use. The change aimed to attract readers with the familiar cartoon tie-in while continuing the established US comic content.

In early 1984, the magazine shuffled further by absorbing the comics Teen/related titles Thor and the X-Men. This merger was briefly noted on the cover, marking a transitional period for the publication as it integrated additional superhero material alongside its Spider-Man narratives.
