Batman (2016-)

King's run - good art, best batsuit, but it's tom king so it's just not that good. He starts off actually pretty strong but just loses it after the first few arcs. He seems to sort of understand the characters at first but completely loses it after the wedding. As for the Batman/Catwoman spin-off, thank god it's black label and therefore non-canon, i don't think i could live knowing that as the canon outcome of these characters. 2/10 - D tier
Tynion run - not as bad as the King run, it's basically just 2 city takeover events (Joker war and Fear state) which is boring, but Ghost-maker is a cool character and his writing is usually solid, it just doesn't fell like he has much to say about Batman the character that he didn't already in his 'Tec run (in which his bruce was the weakest part unfortch) 4/10 - C tier
Zdarsky run - This run conflicts me. It's a bad story, but written by a great writer and drawn by some of the best artists working in the industry right now, so it's entertaining all the way through. The Failsafe arc is so mundanely boring in its premise that the only reason to keep turning pages is to see what the next hollywood explosion plot-armor moment will be, and how well Jimenez will draw it. But the raw story being told is completely uninteresting, as it's essentially just Knightfall again (Batman meets his complete match) with the added in Zur En Arrh stuff, as well as restoring him to a regular - albeit smaller - status quo (billionaire in a mansion, which to be fair i am glad that he's now actually in the city). Joker year one is actually kind of interesting in its interpretation of the "Three Jokers" storyline, but once again there are flaws in the execution that prevent me from rating it very highly. There are plenty of legitimately fantastic character moments throughout, however, which is another reason to keep reading. Like i said, this run conflicts me. Overall a 5-6/10 but certain moments reach up to the 7-8/10 range, so it varies from a high C+ to a middling B for me
Hush Tuah - Jesus christ this is one of the worst events ever released, not only is it taking forever to finish, it's completely uninteresting (essentially retelling gotham war which was already a 1/10) because oh yay! bruce vs the bat family! again! not like we get this EVERY SINGLE YEAR about! Even right now In DC K.O. there is ANOTHER Bruce vs the bat family event going on, so it can't even be unique in its mundanity (Knightfight is good though). Hush is already one of the most overrated villains in Batman's entire rogues gallery, his original story is only pretty good, and they seemingly devided to erase 20+ years of character development in order to brute force the characters into the conflict when they couldn't even come up with a new reason for them to fight. This trend of sequels to old storylines needs to die, it has never been done better than passably. -2/10 - H2sh tier, genuinely just cancel and decanonize it, people already are treating it as non-canon
