Batman tracks their movements through the city's industrial underbelly, finding signs of a martial discipline unlike any local threat. The ninjas are not alone; four other figures pursue them with equal intensity. Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo have followed their ancient enemies through a dimensional rift, finding themselves in a city of gargoyles and perpetual twilight. The conflict draws in the city's other costumed operatives, creating alliances born of necessity. The air smells of ozone and wet brick.
