Years ago, a camera recorded a test in a sterile room. David Cain offered a group of men a simple deal: kill the little girl, Cassandra, and get paid. They stood on plastic sheets, the only sound the hum of the recording equipment. One man hesitated, turning to leave. Before he could take a step, the child moved. His teeth shattered on the floor, his blood staining the plastic. His hand scrambled for the offered knife, but her small fist found his arm first. The crack of bone was followed by the screams of the other men, their fear now part of the permanent record.

1-25 is peak. The rest is still good. This one features my personal favourite incarnation of the Bat-Family. It features basically the best story involving League of Assassins. I would recomend it to anyone.

Made me cry at several points. A comic that seems both aware and unaware of the implications it is making about everything it touches. Maybe perfect comic book maybe the ideal for a comic book to live up to.

One of the most consistently great comic runs ever put out. Incredible character writing, Cassandra is both complex and likeable, and most of the villains serve as a dark mirror for her to confront an aspect of herself, the way Batman villains should be. Kelley Puckett's writing and Damion Scott's pencils are the peak of this book, issues 1-25 are genuinely perfect, but the rest of the run is still very good and there are a few standout artists besides Scott. Great action, compelling emotional beats, and some of my favourite character dynamics/relationships in comics. Can't recommend this enough.

Genuinely one of the best comic runs to grace the industry, there is very little in these 73 issues that is anything less than absolutely stellar. It's so unfortunate how they handled her character afterwards, she deserved better (and thankfully is getting better in current canon)

Beautiful comic. From the complexity of Cassandra Cain's character to how clean the action is portrayed. Definitely one of the best Batman centric comics ever
